SolMate family – Integrative lighting

SolMate family is a part of Mate Collection, which is a range of indoor luminaires with biologically efficient integrative lighting – produced by Belid Lighting AB

The SolMate family consists of SolMate Mobil, SolMate Pendant and SolMate Plafond.

SolMate has an integrated simulation of natural light, which ensures that the user is exposed to the most beneficiary light throughout the day. In the morning and during the day SolMate gradually provides a light boost, which promotes activity and energy, and during the evening and night the light colour and intensity gradually lowers to a level, which promotes rest and sleep.

Lighting comfort is ensured by the use of high quality LEDs and a large lighting surface, which provides biologically efficient but comfortable light.

SolMate is easy to operate by means of an integrated keyboard with only 3 buttons – or by using a remote control with a similar keyboard. All you need to do is plug it in and turn it on.

Especially SolMate Mobil can easily be moved around and placed anywhere – e.g. on a table, on the floor, or on the wall. SolMate Pendant and Plafond are both mounted in the ceiling. The best biological effect of the light is obtained when the luminaires are placed as close to the user as possible.

SolMate has been developed together with scientist, Joachim Stormly Hansen, and has been user optimized during an innovation project with the municipalities of Copenhagen and Aarhus. Positive effects were observed by both personnel and residents at the 2 elder care facilities, where user tests were carried out over a period of 1 year.
