LYHNEDESIGN
LyhneDesign is an industrial design company specializing in technical lighting with a high degree of Nordic aesthetics.
LyhneDesign was established in 2014 and consists of Designer Morten Lyhne and General Manager Anita Lyhne.
Morten has a background as a model maker, and therefore has a very practical approach to design, where innovation, technology and aesthetics come together in a higher unity.
Together with Anita’s extensive experience in project management, LyhneDesign is an efficient and value-creating partner, which can deliver designs that make a difference for both users and surroundings, where function, construction, production and sustainability are considered from the start.
WORKSHOP & PROTOTYPING
My workshop is my studio where I create the physical mock-ups and functioning prototypes.
Based on my facilities and experience as a model builder I am able to create functioning prototypes that are very close to final products.
The outdoor area is used to mount prototypes on different poles and brackets for demonstration and testing.
DESIGNPROCESS
The design process is typically kicked off with a design brief and a dialogue about requirements and wishes.
Based on the design brief, my experience and technical knowledge I prepare sketches that visualize the idea and construction. The next phase in the process is building a prototype in my workshop, and it is not until I physically work with the prototype that I can see and feel if the design and construction work as intended.
Based on my prototypes I carry out user tests in addition to technical tests where I monitor and adjust until I am satisfied with the performance and aesthetics of the product.
